Kilimanjaro Expeditions

Mount Kilimanjaro is a mountain full of beauty, mystique and grandeur. At 19,340 feet, Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest peak and often referred to as the “rooftop of Africa.” Our mountaineering expeditions take you there with experienced guides, certified equipment and climbing gear, and a record of safety and success that is unsurpassed. Some people climb Kilimanjaro for a great personal challenge while others consider it a spiritual journey. Regardless of your objective, you will experience striking natural scenery, native wildlife and breath-taking vistas on our Kilimanjaro expeditions.

Trekker climbers pass through five ecological zones during the journey – everything from rain forest to arctic glaciers. On the lower slopes you may encounter elephants, buffalo and antelope. In the rainforest expect exotic monkeys and birds. Expect the summit to be glacier-packed.

We pride ourselves on providing the safest Mount Kilimanjaro treks available. Our routes are chosen to ensure the safety of the entire party while providing the best scenery and the greatest chance of high summit success. Our native guides are highly experienced and certified mountaineers, and speak fluently in multiple languages including English and Swahili.

We assist climbers with special needs and can accommodate a variety of custom support plans. Contact us today to learn more.

Which route is for me?

The Machame Route (pronounced mah-cha-may) is our most recommended route with a 98% success rate. This seven day Kilimanjaro expedition has a number of distinct advantages. The gentle route begins in the rain forest along well-maintained trails. This is a highly environmentally friendly route that has the added benefit of requiring less time in stuck in mud. This ecologically diverse route is the most scenic route and includes many rich landscapes. Experience stunning late afternoon sunsets at Shira and conquer the great Barranco Wall to view the beautiful Karanga Valley.

This route is safer and offers more comfortable acclimatization compared to other routes. We feel it is the best way to climb Kilimanjaro and it is ideal for a seven day trek peaking with a seven hour summit climb. This less traveled route gives you access to a remote and pristine environment. Unlike other outfitters, we have private camp areas with special environmental toiletries.

The Lemosho Route (pronounced leh-mo-sho) is our choice for those adventurers interested in spending a longer time on the mountain. This eight-day expedition includes Arrow, Western Breach, Shira Plateau and peaks with a summit attempt from Barafu. This peaceful and enjoyable trek is the least traveled route and takes you to parts of the mountain that are less frequently visited. Expect beautiful scenery and lower traffic than other popular routes.

This is a high quality trek and the longer route provides a more gradual ascent thus more time to acclimatize. High camp is at 18,500 feet and camping on the crater rim is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
